Subject: Mr. Phong Nguyen as an Interpreter/Translator is a
threat /risky to the community
Dear Sir/Madam,
For the safety of the community, we wish to bring to your
attention that Mr. Nguyen is dangerous and is not a person that should be able
to be an interpreter or translator for patient in hospital,in court or the community.
For your information, Mr. Nguyen is a very vigilant
Vietnamese man who has been in a constant battle to damage and set fire on
occasion to the owner, staff of various
restaurants, reception venues, and musician came from Vietnam to perform in
Victoria also Mr Nguyen Also badly strike to thousand audients each
shows.
Mr. Nguyen is the leader of the anti-fierce protest; these
protests include the Crown Casino, West End show room Sunshine, L'Amoure
Reception St Albans, Melbourne Papillion Kensington, Maxim Saigon restaurant
Springvale, Oriana reception Maidstone, and the list goes on.
Mr. Nguyen has a crime against humanity:
1-In the year 2008,Mr. Huynh Thuan organization a charity fundraising event at the Crown
Casino by a group of singers, artists …came from Vietnam to raise money to rescue the
poor, hungry, disabled, orphans children in
Vietnam. Mr. Nguyen moved his protest expression to this venue to stop the
event. (see copies attached 01 USB)
2-At the time of the bushfire disaster in Victoria in
February 2009, Mr. Nguyen was the a position Chairperson of the Vietnamese Community
in Australia Inc., they ran a month-long fundraiser throughout Australia. The
total money raised for this fundraiser was $288,000, however, he only handed
over $233,000 to the Red Cross (documents attached 02USB). What happened to the
shortfall of money?
3-In June 2008, two comedians by the names of Tan Bo and Tan
Beo came from Vietnam and were to perform at the Crown Casino. They were
to perform after dinner at the Đai Duong restaurant on the corner of Moore&
Hopkins Street, Footscray.
Mr. Nguyen organised a group to protesters for 3 nights
on 14,15, and 16 June 2008. This protest caused a strike and within a few
months after the strike the restaurant closed because flashback of Mr Nguyen protest . More than 30 employees
lost their jobs, and unfortunately their owners went bankrupt. (see photo
attached 03USB)
Nguyen Scam Community Fund
In 2005, the Victorian Labor Government approved a
grantof $522,000 from the Community Support Fund for the Vietnamese Community
Victoria Chapter Inc. for the purpose of assisting Vietnamese-Australian
citizens living in Victoria for drug addiction, gambling, family violence ...
Mr. Nguyen signed a contract with Catherine Lan Dong (Treasurer of the
Association) to hire Mr. Nguyen (who was the Chairperson of the
Association at that time) for a consultancy position; his contract stated that
he was to be paid $55/hour for 20 hours/week. Mr. Nguyen received $46,000whilst
in this position. This amount was found by the auditors Bird Cameron. (see
photo attached 04)
Conflict of Public Interest
Mr. Nguyen conducts his protests under false pretenses by
saying he is a "Charity and Not for Profit", especially where there
are singers, artists, and comedians that come from Vietnam to perform.
(see photo attached USB)
We are extremely concerned because Mr. Nguyen is creating
racial hatred within the community; this is a real concern for the safety of
all patients who Mr. Nguyen is the interpreter/translator for. The concern is
that he will inflict his bias onto these people, unfortunately, Mr. Nguyen has
a very persuasive manner and his hatred for others will endanger these
patients, therefore, Mr. Nguyen should not be an interpreter/translator in any
hospital or in court. It would be an absolute detriment to the patients and/or
clients that he would be Mr Nguyen handle Interpreter or translate .
Considering the evidence stated above, we ask that you
please take our concerns and recommendations seriously about Mr. Nguyen for the
safety of the community.
We are completely opposed about Mr. Nguyen being able
to be an interpreter/translator for patients in any hospital, courts, or any
part of the public sector.
Your faithfully
Peter Le

Casino protests over Vietnamese communist 'links'

CROWN casino is
bracing for protest marches over claims it is supporting the Vietnamese
Communist Party.
Anti-communist demonstrators will
stage a rally outside the Crown Towers Hotel on Sunday night.
A smaller protest is planned for
this afternoon.
Organisers say they are angry Crown has agreed to
host the Vietnamese musical extravaganza Tu Dai Thien Vuong, which debuts
at The Palms tonight.
Business daily: Crown's bad US spin
The popular global road show,
featuring Vietnamese actors and musicians, is accused of having links to
Vietnam's ruling Communist Party.
"We have told Crown that
these sort of things are very disruptive and very provocative," Vietnamese
Community in Australia president Phong Nguyen said.
Earlier this week he urged
listeners to a Vietnamese radio station to turn out in force.
"The Vietnamese community in
Melbourne has to co-operate and strongly raise their voice with management of
Crown casino and tell them we don't want any members or personnel associated
with the Communist Party of Vietnam at the casino," he said.
Mr Phong said anti-communist
protesters would be coming to Melbourne from Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide to
bolster number
"Our community view Crown as
actually siding with the regime that they have escaped from," Mr Phong
said.Crown, which yesterday revealed losses of almost $1.2 billion, dismissed
the claim
"I don't think any sensible
person would accuse us of supporting the Vietnamese Communist Party. We are
simply providing popular entertainment for our Vietnamese customers,"
spokesman Gary O'Neill said."Of course members of the Vietnamese community
have the right to peacefully protest if they feel the need to. They also have
the right to raise their concerns about this particular group with the
appropriate government authorities"However, Crown is also sure that the
majority of the Vietnamese community in Australia support the rights of their
members to attend a concert if they choose to."Promoter Michael Nikolic
said he was bemused by the communist claims."It has absolutely nothing to
do with communism," Mr Nikolic said.
Tu Dai Thien Vuong stars renowned
Vietnamese performers Dan Truong, Tuan Hung and Van Quang Long.
Shows will be staged tonight and
on Sunday afternoon with tickets available through Ticketek.

City-based photographer Brian Dricscoll traveled to Vietnam to document the everyday struggles of third
generation Agent Orange victims battling dozens of serious ailments, physical
deformities and mental disorders.
Driscoll
was inspired to take up this difficult topic by his uncle, a Vietnam War veteran
who may have been one of estimated 2.6 million U.S. soldiers believed to have
been exposed to Agent Orange in the 1960s.

The
American photographer traveled to Hanoi and tracked down a group of young
Vietnamese whose health has been ravaged by the chemical, the site Feature Shoot reported.
For
three weeks, Mr Driscoll made his way south through remote villages, ending his
journey in Nha Trang about 640 miles from the capital.
During
his travels, Driscoll got to meet and take pictures of teenagers and children
as young as 5 suffering from debilitating conditions, among them Nguyen Pham,
11, who is deaf, blind and mute. The boy has been bed-ridden for most of his
life.
Agent
Orange is the combination of the code names for Herbicide Orange and Agent LNX,
one of the herbicides and defoliants used by the U.S. military as part of its
chemical warfare program, Operation Ranch Hand, during the Vietnam War from
1961 to 1971.
In the
course of 10 years, American forces sprayed nearly 20million gallons of the
chemical in Vietnam, Laos and parts of Cambodia in an effort to deprive
guerrilla fighters of cover by destroying plants and trees where they could
find refuge.

The
chemical was manufactured for the U.S. Department of Defense by Monsanto
Corporation and Dow Chemical. It got its name from the color of the
orange-striped 55-gallon barrels in which it was shipped to Asia.
Jeanne
Stellman, of the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, estimated
that up to 4.5 million Vietnamese were living in the 3,181 villages that were
directly in the spray paths and were potentially exposed to the herbicide.
According
to the Vietnam Red Cross, about 1 million Vietnamese have been affected by
Agent Orange, including 150,000 children suffering from birth defects, CNN
